Describe The Relationship Between New Mothers And Interpreterers

One of the first actions I would conduct would be to introduce myself to the new mother and interpreter. I would ask the new mom how she is feeling. I would listen intently as to what the new mom is saying. As mentioned before, this new mom needs an interpreter in order to communicate with me. I would have the interpreter mention to the new mom for her next appointments, she brings the interpreter along or makes arrangements so that the interpreter is there. Communication would be a cultural barrier for this new family so bringing the interpreter along would be helpful. I would help the new mom with the bath and caring for the cord. I would show the new mom the best way to care for it and what to use. I would give the new mom praise frequently as she shows me how she should clean the cord. Thirdly, I would have the new mom show me how she puts her baby in a car seat. Throughout this conversation, the interpreter would be used for better communication skills. If the new mom needs help or the car seat is improperly installed I would help show the new mom how it should fit. I would ask the new mom what some of her concerns are with her baby. If she had questions I could answer, I would do that. I would evaluate the moms learning by how she interacts with her baby and if she can model the behavior I am showing her. I would have the mom explain what she just learned from me through the interpreter. However, the best way to see if the new mom understands what I am saying is to show me since we cannot directly communicate due to the language barrier. Lastly, before I leave I would again ask the mom if she had any questions and I would leave her a card if
