1. Hydrogen peroxide is a strong oxidizer. At all times it should be kept away from the hot plates.
2. Both hydrochloric acid and hydrogen peroxide are very corrosive. Keep eyes protected at all times (goggles on at all times).
3. If hydrochloric acid/hydrogen peroxide comes into contact with skin or eyes, wash with cold water immediately.
4. Be sure to use test tube holder at all times when handling heated glass.
Procedure: Part 2 – Increased Temperature
1. Poured 100 mL of water into a 250 mL beaker. Then placed beaker on a hot plate until the water began to boil.
