He just doesn’t see the real picture. Denmark is full of falsehearted, treacherous, parasites, who would easily killed if they thought there was even the slightest to gain from it. Take claudius for example, he had a nice life in Denmark, but that wasn’t enough for him. He had to be king, and he wanted it badly enough to kill his own brother, King Hamlet, in order to get it. He has shamed the nobility of his noble upbringing. He has demonstrated a complete lack of righteousness, firmness, glory and morality. Why can’t people like laertes see that? Instead, they encircle the new king looking for favors, strengthening their own positions. Sure, Laertes doesn’t always involve himself in these activates, but he doesn't seem angry by those who do. He benefits from the system just as much as anyone, even at times like this when he really should. In brief Hamlet and Laertes have nothing in common when it come to their beliefs. One believes entirely in trust and compassion, while the other thinks thing are black and white without any grey.
