Francis continued to grow spiritually and felt a calling of going out and spreading the word of the Lord to continue his habits of following the lord. If it weren't for Francis’s ability to stand to his virtues, he would not have made such an impact on the world like he has. Now he had a lot of virtues and I can’t even think of a vice that he had in his later days. The literary form and genre of the book of Genesis is prose: biblical and historical narrative. Biblical narratives in Genesis show that “God is active in His world” and these narratives typically “chose certain events to reveal God.” For instance, this element is apparent when the Angel of the Lord speaks to Hagar, granting her the promise of descendants (Gen 16:10). In the same manner, this element is reinforced in subsequent chapters (Gen 17:19; 18:10). In describing this book, it is significant to note that most of the characters in the narrative are flawed.…

The Israelites were YHWH's chosen people; set apart from other civilizations (Deuteronomy 7:6). This provides the explanation for all of the laws that the Israelites were to follow - like what foods to eat - because it visibly showed how the were different from those around them. Obviously, Genesis would also need to provide an explanation for what the neighboring tribes did that would make them abominable to YHWH. In the beginning of Deuteronomy 7, the Israelites are called to utterly destroy the neighboring tribes and to not marry off their children with members of the other tribe. Genesis provides the framework and rationalization for Israelites to follow YHWH's commands later on.…
