“For some reason this gives me hope that there is much else I don’t see. I hope for my parents and Bram, for Xander, for Ky” (Condie 118). Now that Ky has been taken to go fight in a war by the society Cassia is determined to find him. She does everything she can to try to find him but doesn’t know he has ran away into the canyons also to try to find her too. Knowing that Ky Is only a couple days ahead of Cassia and Indie she is much more eager to find him. In this journal I will predict what happens to Cassia and Ky, connecting with Ky, and visualizing a part in the book.

I predict that Cassia and Ky will eventually find each other. One reason I think this is because when Cassia went to one of the work camps she found a guy who said he saw Ky in a different camp that he was in before. “’The one I was in before I came here. ‘It might not be the same person. The Ky I know had words like you said’” (Condie 88). This gave Cassia hope that he knew where Ky was and that she might be able to catch up with him because Ky was only a couple days ahead of her. Another reason why I thing Cassia and Ky will find each other is because they both went through the Carving. When Cassia was looking for Ky she went through the carving just like

On way I can connect with him is because he misses Cassia and doesn’t know if he will ever see her again. “I wish Cassia were here with me” (Condie 135). You can tell that has high esteem for Cassia. I can relate to him because I know how what it feels like to miss someone you love. My cousins live in Utah and I rarely ever see then and I miss them a lot. Ky doesn’t know if he is will find Cassia again and when he was in the house in the cave all the books he found reminded him of Cassia. He knew that she would have read all of them. This is just like when something reminds me of my cousins in Utah and it makes me miss even more. I can be affiliated with Ky because we are going through the same

I read Crossed by Allie Condie. In this text there is a girl named Cassia who was trying to find this guy she was falling in love with named Ky, but he was sent to the Outer Provinces. Cassia has been in work camps and she gets a visit from her match, not Ky, whose name is Xander. Xander had given Cassia blue tablets and Ky’s artifact, a compass, but when they go out Cassia trades the compass for information to find Ky. The chapters switch from Cassia’s to Ky’s perspective, Ky is burying aberrations, people who are not allowed to marry because they or their families have committed infractions against the government, since the society sent them to die by being killed by “the Enemy.”…

In the article, “Does the Practise of Imagining Create more Empathetic People or Conversely does Prasticing None Face-to-Face Communication Make One Less Empathetic?”, about empathy Mariyon Slany states that not having face to face communication with one another can cause us to be less empathetic and reading can increase empathy. When we are using technology we are communicating with each other but aren’t seeing one another directly this stops us from seeing the others facial expression which makes it harder for us to figure out how they are feeling. When people aren’t interacting face to face they become less able to empathize with others which can cause them to socially isolate themselves and become insensitive which is why it is important…

While these elements work in favour of Riggs' novel, what is troubling is the part of the plot that explores a love interest portrayed between Jacob and a peculiar child. It becomes a notion of incest and is arguably unnecessary. The idea of it didn't seem to be a well-suited pair of a peculiar characters and a controversial topic of discussion. This could have been cut without affecting the other favourable elements of the novel. All in all, this book is for anyone who is willing to embark on an unpredictable reading adventure.…

As this is happening, the god Mercury comes down to Aeneas and reminds him that he needs to focus on his main duties instead of Dido and leave for Italy.
