The Devil and Tom Walker is about a money hungry young man who makes a deal with the devil so he can receive Kidd the Pirates ancient treasure, but under certain conditions of course. At first I didn't like the story because honestly, I don't like the thought of the devil being in stories, but that's also what made this story interesting. You see, Tom and his wife were money hungry and they would do anything to get more money to live a better life, even if it meant they would be selling their soul, but in the end I started to really enjoy the story.
I eventually liked this story because first off, I feel like not many authors write about the devil and people making deals with him, so I like that this piece is something different. This story actually reminded me of the song The Devil Went Down to Georgia by The Charlie Daniels Band because both stories have to do with making a deal with the devil and risking lives to get something valuable, which in Tom Walker's case, he wanted the treasure, but in the song, Johnny made the deal to get the golden fiddle.…
