They are able to completely make themselves transparent and invisible to their predators. The color of their original skin is outstanding. They are characterized by false eyespots that are dark ovals and fluorescent rings commonly present at the bottom at the base of the tentacles and dark brown coloring at the tips of the arms with two rows of lighter spots. Crayfish are freshwater crustaceans that use their claws called chelipeds, for warning off predators. When frightened, these crayfish lift their chelipeds to make threatening gestures, all while moving backwards or staying still. We examined how long it would take for crayfish to calm down once removed from the water and if the temperature had any influence to this observation. To do this, we placed two crayfishes in room temperature water and another two in colder water for an interval of five minutes and again for ten minutes. Once the time was up,we measured how long it took for the crayfish to lower their claws.…

In one tentacle, it is grasping the U.S. Capitol, in another the State Building, in yet another one of its arms, it is clutching the shipping industry as well as the steel/copper industry. To top it all off, it is reaching towards the White House. This is truly an ingenious way of showing the power of Standard Oil, because it was actually very close to what was happening.…

Although sea creatures live together in the same ocean, the condition in different areas varies. The different characteristics of these four sea creatures make them unique, therefore giving them various ways to adapt to extreme oceanic environments in order to survive.
