When it comes to producing academic papers my writing style remains adaptive to meet the rhetorical context of a specific course. Meaning, my focus and attention is directed towards proper formatting, and writing a paper that engages a reader. My process involves narrowing in on a topic, gathering sources, free style writing, creating an outline, writing a draft, revisions, and then producing a final…
Project 1 - Personal Writing Process I like to think of myself as a creative writer. However, it is true that the majority of my writing time is dedicated to educational writing for school. So currently I am a creative writer in spirit and an educational writer out of necessity.…
I chose to revise the first and forth essay. I chose these because they are the shortest essays. I know you wanted me to revise my research essay because I did not have parenthetical citations, but during my writing center visit I asked about those and I learned where they should be and how they should look. When I revised my papers I tried to think about the questions someone else who is not familiar with the topics would ask about my papers and I answered them.…
Writing is an art; we create our thoughts in your mind and express it on paper. Once we start writing we keep getting new ideas and when we re-read what we wrote, sometimes it might surprise us. I like to write during early mornings or in the evening when it is quiet. My reading table is facing towards the window so when fresh air is in my room, fresh ideas generate inside me as well. I make sure to have some healthy snacks and a bottle of water in front me…
For eighteen years, I have roamed this earth, and for thirteen of those years I have been able to harness my craft in writing. As I look back on those times, I see how much I have improved. I learned that I despised word count essays and loved creative writing assignments. My literacy journey began in kindergarten where they taught us how to write out the alphabet, my name, and simple sentences. I don’t remember everything that about my time in kindergarten, but I do remember how frustrated I was trying to write out my name.…
My writing process coming into junior year was quite flawed and would go moderately like this: I would try and start with some hook that at least sounded like it related to the topic I was assigned. I then added a thesis that did not sound like total trash that included exactly what I planned to discuss. As I wrote the rest of my essays, I would sometimes realize there was something I felt added to the argument’s appeal, and after adding it to the body paragraphs, I summed it up in a couple words and squeezed it into my thesis. That was about the maximum amount of revising I would do for my essays. My decently crafted essays contained simple diction with a few SAT words I remembered while writing thrown in awkwardly.…
As a senior at TCPS, I am currently taking my second dual-enrollment college course, comp one. Before this college level writing course, I thought I had the skill of writing papers mastered. Throughout grade school, writing a paper in a few hours was easily achievable and was the general thing to do. My peers and I easily wrote papers without effort and made good grades. Therefore, when I started my first college writing course, I thought this was the thing to do.…
I would say I have a neutral opinion on English classes. Some days I like them, and some days I dread the time when I have to go home and write another really long essay. My writing process has always been about the same from year to year because I tend to do very well on most of them. I have really enjoyed reading books and plays in class, and I hope we can do that in the future.…
For some of us writing might not be as easy as for others. To me writing could be a long process of different stages that might get difficult with time. My writing process is very complicated and confusing but it could be improved by rereading and revising my drafts. I’ve never being a writing person, meaning writing process can get really difficult for me and it even deals with a lot of thinking. I like to think of my writing process as a test because I like to do better every time and just like a test I like to take my time.…
My Writing Process My process of writing has been quite simple. I write in the same place with the same writing tools. It works for me and I wouldn’t do it any other way.…
When I was in around ninth or tenth grade, I hated pretty much everyone. You could point out a stranger to me and I would be able to find something negative to say about them. I suppose I would a choice to be this way unconsciously, because I had been bullied and made to feel like a loser and an outcast. So I started acting like one. I don't really remember specifically making a choice to think differently; I was just tired of being angry all the time.…
Rosenwasser and Stephen’s “Fourteen Short Takes on Writing And Writing Process” contain a variety of helpful tips for writing a strong and clear college essay. Banking, one of the fourteen ‘topics’, stood out the most for me, mainly but I have personally experienced this problem countless times in a classroom setting. Most of the incidences happen when the teacher becomes impatient with the class. Instead of leading a discussion where the students are in control of their own ideas, the teacher would push along and accidentally dissuade thinking. Banking is essentially the concept of math, where there is a single input and a single output, which doesn’t allow for much thought or critical thinking.…
