Throughout my life, I have prevailed over several medical obstacles in order to continue my educational pursuit. The sharp contrast between going to a tradition school surround by peers and faculty, versus having to acclimate to an unfamiliar homeschool curriculum that consisted of learning material by my own volition, left me questioning whether or not college would be a possibility. During our journeys in life we have amazing individuals who will come along beside us and empower us to go after our goals, grab hold of our purpose and fly towards our destiny with confidence no matter what. Most times those individuals will not even realize the impact that they have had on our life until the time comes when they are recognized during a particular speech, remembrance with other individuals, or just through a simple conversation between the two years later. Throughout my life experiences, I have had the honor to have amazing individuals come along side and empower me to see a possible future, and believe it can be obtained. I will be recognizing these individuals; these mentors who encouraged and had the ability to see ahead what others could not see and to help me navigate a course to my destiny to be a part of a movement that will impact the destinies of the next generations. During my Freshman year at The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga, I became a teacher intern with the UTC Strings Project program, which focused on instrumental methods of string instruments for elementary through middle school.…
