My extra-curricular activities have positively impacted my character. Through volleyball and spring track my sophomore year, I feel I have gained a sense self-determination and grit. These sports also helped me understand the importance of succeeding as a student athletic. Because of these experiences I feel I have achieved the ability to manage my time more wisely. One these characteristics include, taking charge in group situations and being able to make decisions. For example, in the classroom with group projects, I feel I 'm the first one to take initiative and designate roles for each person. A crucial factor in being a leader is being able to see the strengths in each person and what they to contribute. As a leader, I am able to guide and encourage people to reach their full potential. Lastly, one of my best leadership qualities is my ability to be straightforward with people, but in manner that is respectful and kind, in order to see them improve. Everything revolved around my schoolwork. I was raised to think that doing well in school and eventually getting into college was top priority. For example, when I was younger I would get so upset and frustrated, if I wasn 't able to understand a concept or if I didn 't do well on an assignment. That 's when my self-determination and dedication for school began. Throughout elementary school and middle school, I found myself not struggling to get work done because by this point of my life, my successful study habits became second nature. This was put to the test when I decided to apply to a private high school, known as Notre Dame High School. Once I was accepted, the transition from middle school to high school was no walk in the park. Not only is high school a scary place for a freshman, it was a whole new school, a new community. Nevertheless, I began to adapt to my new community and succeeded. Through my dedication and hard work, I was able enter Hightstown High School with a transcript that allowed to to take all honors classes and two AP classes. I am currently working as hard as I can to get a good score on my SAT and get into a good university. Once a task is started, I have to finish it and
