1. In a brief statement describe your career goals in this pathway. Where do you see yourself in this career pathway in the next three years?
My career goals in the Respiratory Care pathway are to understand and master the skills necessary to become an outstanding Respiratory Therapist. I am attracted to this career because I will have the opportunity to help patients with respiratory problems in a variety of medical settings. This program will provide me with the opportunity to master all aspects of the curriculum and to efficiently operate respiratory mechanical and therapeutic devices. I am particularly interested in the neonatal portion of the program, as I hope to work in this area.

I am determined to get things right and I take the time necessary to do the best possible job. To overcome this weakness, I plan to employ stronger organizational and time management skills.
3. Describe any personal obstacles you face that may impact your current academic success and how you plan to overcome these challenges? (I.e. transportation, financial obligations, child care, time management). What support systems do you have in place to overcome them?
My financial situation poses the greatest obstacle to my academic success. I am a single mother with two young children (ages 7 and 10). I understand that this program is quite intense and will require me to devote most of my time to attending classes and studying. I will have to forgo working in order to maximize my time studying. I may need to figure out ways to supplement my income until I can finish the program. I feel that if I continue to have the same support systems that I have enjoyed for the last three years I will continue to overcome any financial burdens that will restrict me from excelling in this
