I reach the top and throw my plastic La Place cup in the garbage next to the silver elevator. I turn right and look up to the small board where there is a clock and next to it a sign that says 9b. Every time I see this I immediately think of platform 9 ¾; but I won’t be running into any walls to get to the platform. I stretch my neck upwards to check the board that lists the train stops making sure i have the right train. The third one on the list is where I want to go. The rain pelts down as I am on the edge of the covered area. I press the button repeatedly for the doors to open. Stepping to the side to let the crowd of people fall out of the train. I keep my head down and avoid eye contact as I push my way through the doors, holding my purse and flowers close. I enter the train and sit down on the grey fabric splattered with a pattern of coloured shapes.
