The case study introduces James Washington who is 24 years old and a fresh graduate of the company's Management Associate Trainee Program. James was recently appointed as Northview Service Center Manager at one of the company's service centers. He loved his job and was motivated to do his best in the first assignment. One of the service center's employees was Dorothy Rogers working as an assistant manager at Northview for over 12 years and was 59 years old. Dorothy initiated many problems at the service center especially with a senior service associate; Bonnie Johnson, and James felt that Dorothy was pushing and resisting him. In your opinion, what is the appropriate amount of formal education needed to be a corporate CEO? Why?
I think the type is dependent on the type of organization. For example, hospital CEOs must have medical degrees; technology CEOs must have IT degree, etc. I think the amount of formal education is a minimum of Bachelor degree. This because most CEOs earned their positions through a long record of success and experience in their field.
