After all my life be some very long elaborate dream. Some might say though that while yes often times we don’t perceive ourselves to be asleep while dreaming occasionally some people can realize they are asleep while dreaming in a phenomenon called lucid dreaming. So then if we are all dreaming why has no one realized they were dreaming? This though assumes that everyone is together in the same dream and it is possible to for us to realize we are “dreaming”. The world around me may only be my dream couldn’t it be that the dream is in such a matter that it is like the, hopefully, fictional matrix. It is conceivable that our senses and the information we receive through them is false or even possibly being manipulated. Descartes gives an ample example that our senses could be being tricked or fed false data without us even being aware of it. In Descartes’ other argument, the Deceiving God Hypothesis, Descartes proposes that it is conceivable that there could be some malevolent almighty being that is giving information in such a way that our mind perceives it to as if we had a body and were getting information through it about our environment, but when
