Dermatologist Personal Statement

Improved Essays
My time as a Medical Assistant for a Dermatologist and his PA has given me the opportunity to validate my passion for becoming a PA. I have had the opportunity to provide excellent medical care to patients, but I want to be able to provide the next level of care that can be done with the education and training of a PA. I feel that Auburn University adequately prepared me to successfully endure the vigorous curriculum that a PA program consists of. Though some of my grades were lower than hoped, I was able to learn better study habits and excel in higher-level courses.
I feel that becoming a PA is the right professional field for me to pursue because of my healthcare experiences thus far. I choose PA over physician because the schooling is significantly

I considered becoming a doctor but found that a PA profession has many advantages that a MD or DO does not have. I like that PAs can work in several different specialties, whereas a doctor has to do another residency to work in a different field. This is also another reason why I am choosing PA over NP since nurse practitioners tend to specialize more and have less mobility between specialties. I also like the idea of having a supervising physician that I can consult. I do my best work when I am part of a team, working steps ahead of someone else to increase efficiency and outcome.…

For as long as I can remember, I have wanted to attend North Dakota State University. My dad and sister are NDSU alumni, so furthering my education where they did provides us with a unique bond. Additionally, not many of my relatives attended college, allowing me to see the difficulties in providing for oneself and family without a college degree. Although I know the next seven years are going to be challenging, extremely strenuous, and will push me to the edge of my comfort zone, the satisfaction of administering medical services to those who need them will make it worthwhile. Not only will I be able to care for others with a Pharm.…

Events of the past, present, and future have always interested me. Studying the information on the history and progression of the physician assistant profession has been no exception. The history of the physician assistant occupation denotes the importance of its position in healthcare. Prior to the first formal education received by future physician assistants in 1965-1967, by Eugene A Stead, Jr., Dr. Amos Johnson and his proprietary trained assistant Henry Treadwell, became a model for Stead’s first class of PA students. The Johnson/Treadwell model represented, present, on the job training for non-physician personnel to assist physicians in practice.…

To be specific, I would like to be a cosmetic surgeon. However, it is not only the aspect of being able to mold bodies into the patient's goal: I want to explore what makes their surgery meaningful, at least in the context of their life. Patients could easily be someone who wants liposuction for aesthetic purposes or a patient in remission who wants to remove traces of the disease. My point is: both are equally meaningful and would probably raise the quality of their lives. Nevertheless, I want to know more about the aspects of mental health that will let me differentiate someone who would benefit from a procedure versus someone who would benefit from therapy for their body perception.…
