Above all other major league teams, the New York Yankees are the team that everyone dreams to play for, and growing up loving and dreaming to play for them and actually making that dream come true is a huge accomplishment in life. Jeter started loving the Yankees at a young age and at the age of “eight years old, Derek dreamed of playing shortstop for the New York Yankees” (Borelli). Not only was Jeter making his dream come true, he was achieving the dream of millions of Americans that dream of playing professional baseball.
