People can achieve mass success by doing something they’re talented in. This success will lead them to being larger than life, or an epic hero. epic heroes are sports icons, actors and actresses, and, music phenomenons. Sometimes these heroes will develop a flaw, such as wrath, pride, or misguided judgement. These flaws will lead to their downfall, making them a Tragic Hero. Aristotle defines tragedy as “the downfall of a noble character resulting from a tragic flaw that creates a sense of pity and terror in the audience’’ (Spencer). Derek Boogaard was an NHL enforcer, and by Aristotle 's definition of tragedy, a tragic hero.
