The third and final problem that I will address in this paper are when people complain about their present situation in life and never attempt to improve their circumstances. The procedure that a Victor Frankl would employ is dereflection. Dereflection is a method used by logotherapy to curve the client’s attention from the negative aspects into a positive manner of viewing the issue. “Use of dereflection has grown over the years such that it is used to help clients respond to a variety of mental health difficulties when too much focus is placed on symptoms to the detriment of client strengths,” (Schulenberg, Hutzell, and Rogina, 2008, p. 452). The goals that I have set in my life are to be a good son, brother, uncle, friend, counselor, and example. The meaning that I find in helping others supersedes my self-loathing and enables me to strive for my goals and not to revert to past behaviors. I am no means cured of my thoughts and biases, however, this theory is encouraging and aids me in thinking about Gods plan and not keeping the gifts he has blessed me with to myself simply for the reason that I disagree with others behaviors. As a Christian Jesus tells us that we are to care for one another and help on another as we are doing it to him. Matthew 24:40, “The King will reply, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.’ What I find meaning in this as a Christian formulates a desire inside my heart to try and show others a better life that Jesus has given me. Mr. Frankl’s logotherapy is in alignment with the scriptures in that you can never find happiness or meaning if you focus on your own aspirations. When you facilitate another person’s ability to succeed or aid in their quality of life then you find happiness and meaning. The methods that Victor designed to help people realize I will practice on myself to continually remind myself when I am dealing with anxiety or other personal issues that I may not be able to solve the difficulty; however, I can choose the attitude that I will have in the
