All these students were able to achieve an average GPA of 3.57 for the girls and 3.34 for the boys. In addition, nearly 50% of all students reported to be feeling extremely stressed. Another 31% expressed that they are somewhat stressed. The girls who were surveyed happened to have higher stress levels than males (60% vs. 41%). Out of those who expressed their distress, 26% also revealed that they experienced symptoms of depression at a clinically important level. Many surveys indicate that the amount of stress high school students are put under is insalubrious and is often the cause abaft many adolescent health problems. Overly stressed students tend to witness sleep problems, depression and pain. Symptoms as such can lead to more life-threatening situations such as strokes and weight problems. Students are often affected by decisions representatives take, such as the claim to make it mandatory to meet a requirement on the upcoming Parcc exams in order to graduate. Just imagine, a teenager being deprived of being set free and growing up because they could pass one test. What if that child had a bad case of test anxiety. Many surveys and doctors support the idea of students being overworked and recommend to take some action.
