They’re being taken advantage of by the adults of this world who are letting things that are nowhere near as important as our children get in the way of giving them the best life and the best opportunity they can. Children who suffer from depression feel terrible, they feel an unimaginable pain inside them and they can’t even explain it. It’s as-if they’re totally empty inside. Their depression will take away everything from them, from their hobbies and social lives to their hopes and dreams. We have to do something to make sure we are not continuing to cause this sort of unimaginable and traumatic pain onto our kids.
While many officials are arguing that a later start time would: increase costs, mess up traffic schedules, hurt businesses, among other things, we must remember that our children come first. This wouldn’t be the first time a community has had to adjust around school times and it certainly won’t be the last. Our children are the priority and if it means helping them succeed then the adults must make a sacrifice.
Are we going to continue to not put our children first? Are we going to continue to prioritize other non-important things ahead of our own kin? Are we going to continue to allow the youth of today to suffer the consequences of early school days because it’s too inconvenient for the adults of the world to change
