The key points of this video were that family and close friends often feel some responsibility for the death of their loved one after a completed attempt and that combat can have lasting effects on an individual that need professional attention. Though no research was presented in this video, I found it interesting that one of Clay's connections through the VA actually noted that he has seen hundreds of individuals that struggle like Clay did. One thing that I disagreed with and was concerned about in the video was that when Clay did seek help from the VA, he ended up in a financial bind because there were issues and delays with benefits processing. I think that because these individuals go out and fight to protect the country that they should…

My current role includes training mental health and learning disability staff of all disciplines in specialist suicide risk assessment. Within the training I deliver which the training is called STORM (skills training on risk management, developed by Manchester University ) I teach that staff must ask patients if they are experiencing suicidal thoughts. Specifically to ask about the type of thought, frequency, how they manage it, and plans and intent around the thought. It is important to know the answer to this question as it furnishes the assessor with the risk information which will allow them to formulate risk and write a risk mitigation plan.…

Honestly, in my perspective, I thought a young teenager or young adult (age between 15 and 24) were more committed suicide than others, but I was wrong. In 2000, the age between 85 or older were committed suicide more than others, but in next year and after that, it gets better. Not just age I was observed, the gender and the race are included, so I was surprised with the result. The high rates of suicide by ethnicity from 2000 to 2011 among white and American Indian people. Besided that, the black, Asian/ Pacifier Islander, and Hispanic people were low numbers of suicide rates.…

This video was to make educators aware of the problems teen may be having. For me it was amazing to learn more teens and young adults, die of suicide than from cancer, heart disease, AIDS, birth defects, stroke, pneumonia and influenza and chronicle lung disease combined. The vidieo stated that in 1999, a nationwide survey of high school students found then in the preceding 12 months, one in five had seriously considered suicide and one in 13 had attempted suicide. What caused or contributed to teen suicide is often reviled and little is done to prevent it. Suicide is something that no one knows who are really going to commit the act and most of the times the teen just need or want someone to talk to about different problems they might be facing.…
