Not only does it release those chemicals, but also triggers more growth of brain cells, and connections. Good eating, and enough amount of sleep should always go along with exercise; not getting enough sleep actually worsens the depression. Strong social support is also very important, and finding changes in the person’s life can greatly reduce stress. Medications are available, although this should not be turned to for the long run. Researchers are also looking into whether vitamins, and supplements really work on treating depression. (Saisan, Smith, Segal, 2014).
