In your discussion, you address how practicing relaxation techniques and exercise can help a client battle depression. I am an individual who loves to exercise and has depression in the family. Certainly, exercise has become a huge coping mechanism for stress, however, I notice I have started to go to the gym when I am feeling depressed. Broderick and Blewitt (2015) say how depression starts between the ages 18 through 30 (p. 435). As for being a 23-year-old female, sometimes I worry about being depressed. If I was one of your clients approaching you about this situation, what are some techniques you would provide?
