Therefore, the DWC was an excellent place to learn more about therapy practices. Additionally, I wanted to help out the agency as much as possible in order to give back due to the opportunity they provided me. An additional goal I has was during this process was to understand the difference between how licensed clinical social workers and marriage and family therapists operated. Whilst at my internship I applied to the social work program and the marriage and family therapy program at East Carolina university. I knew there might be a possibility of being accepted into both programs, which ultimately did happen. Because providers at the DWC work in such close proximity to one another, this setting was ideal in aiding me in eventually making my choice to choose a graduate program to best suit me.
