Depaul Personal Statement

Part One : Academic Program
One major that I’m interested in at DePaul is psychology. The reason I’m interested in this major in general because recently I’ve been diagnosed with GAD(Generalized Anxiety Disorder ) and I see a psychologist. And I would like to help adolescents and youth with both similar and different mental psychological disorders . My main goal with this career is to create a connection with my patients, so I can treat them a better way then someone who can’t connect. People who have similar background are more likely to be better treated. For example, I feel uncomfortable with my psychologist because she doesn’t seem to care. To me she’s just to listen and give her input once in awhile, and I would like to avoid this. I want

One of the student organization I'm interested is the Student Government Association (SGA). This is basically student council were the student boy and school is represented and they decide activities in the school. I have done student council for many years and most of the time I've enjoyed it. This gives me a sense of leadership and helps make a difference in the school at the same time. In Conclusion, in my senior year I would apply to Depaul. It may not be affordable, but with financial aid, Student Loans, and Grants then maybe it would be affordable for me to attend Depaul after high school. Also I love that Depaul is located in Lincoln Park because it's primarily a neighborhood just for college students and there isn’t much crime. There's public transportation around every block and fitness centers, libraries, etc. And there's a lot of resources on campus and things to do. At the same time the class sizes are around only 30 students and professors are the primary instructors rather than teacher assistants. But the thing that I love the most is student employment in the school. It makes it more convenient to get a job on campus rather than of campus where you won't really learn anything and making any connections for future

I am interested in applying to SMU because it is a well rounded college. The business school at SMU is known for being fantastic and it really attracted me to the university. There seems to be a lot of school spirit around the athletic teams, most notably the football and basketball programs. Also, I really like the city of Dallas, even though I have only visited it a few times. I was particularly interested in the fact that SMU has a 11:1 student-faculty ratio because I like how the university can offer more individual attention.…

I have obtained not only extensive marketing and general business knowledge through self-studying for competitive tests, but also practical communication, presentation, and sales skills while representing various business professionals in judged roleplay scenarios. I have placed at the district, state, and international level in my events, and this year I will have competed at the International Career Development Conference for my third year. These experiences give me a good foundation of understanding business concepts, and I plan to learn more about how businesses operate in the global market through the Business is Global program at the Kelley School of Business.…
