Science is terminology used to express the act studying in such a wide field of advancements that affect our everyday live; we call people who research these studies, ¨scientists.¨ I was fortunate enough to speak with scientist, Dr. Victor Frankenstein, who posed the idea of becoming God himself and creating life. On a stormy night, he took it upon himself, and for the advancement of science, to attempt to create a better humanity; with a combination of body parts, he constructed a new, whole body in which he zapped to life. His imaginative creation became a reality in which he was not ready for. The newly constructed monster began a reign of torture and destruction; much of Dr. Frankenstein’s family and loved ones were lost to this creation as the monster had took it upon himself to seek murder in revenge to Dr. Frankenstein’s disapproval of the beast. Recently, I have been researching an advancement in the agricultural sciences and the study of genetically modified foods products.…

In his 1942 writing "The Normative Structure of Science," Robert K Merton outlines the four "Ethos of Science" - principles he believes should always be upheld in order to ensure good scientific practices. These four principles are Universalism, Communism, Disinterestedness, and Organized Skepticism. Universalism is the idea that a scientist should reject all their individual differences in favor of having an understanding, all-considering, objective view on the world. Communism is the idea that all scientific knowledge and progress is shared, and that a scientist should strive to make scientific progress for the greater good and fame rather than capital gain. Disinterestedness means that a scientist should have high moral integrity, putting themselves last and…
