Kantianism argues that we must act out of our duty or acting from a moral law. In addition, it is our motives which are to be judge and not the consequences of the action. I will be focusing on patient centered deontology
Patient Centered Deontology believes people have the right against being used only as means for producing good consequences without one's consent and not using another for other’s benefit.
For Deontology to work Kant created the Categorical Imperative which states,

The companies use them to test for cosmetic allergens (humane products, AKA not tested on animals). Skin care products like SkinMedica for the benefits collagen provides to the skin. Even the pharmaceutical company that make Apligraf® purchases foreskin to use in their product. With all of these companies they are not listing foreskin as one of the ingredients in the product, instead are listing it as, “living cell-based product”, “created from cells found in healthy human skin”, and “proteins produced by the cells, and collagen.”
Circumcision and Deontology
Based on Deontology Theory it would say that it is dependent on the parent’s intentions whether the act of circumcision was good or not. However, the parent’s duty is most often times the result of trust that they put into their physicians. So in turn, is dependent on the Doctor’s intentions. If however, the intentions of the caregivers were to have the child look like the father, is this fulfilling their duty to the child?
According to the Patient Centered Deontology theory it states that all parties are acting unethical because they do not have the consent of the child to perform the circumcision. Additionally, the Doctors are using the child as a means by selling their foreskin without consent.
