Denzel Washington Research Paper

The actor that I choose for this assignment is one of the most well-known actors of all time, Denzel Washington. With as many accomplishments as he has, it is still shocking to me that he has only one the academy award for best actor, one time in his entire 40 plus years on the scene. Nevertheless, the award came at the right time with one of my favorite films of all time, Training Day, released in 2001 and directed by Antoine Fuqua. While I believe that he is an all-around amazing actor, Washington’s acting in this particular film is one of the best, if not the best that I have ever seen for him. With so many incredible acting’s under his belt, I bet you are asking how I could choose one as the best. The reason why I personally believe that

The Latino and Hispanic fashion, like the music and dance is a result of the merging of different cultures. Though Denzel Washington won an Oscar for Training Day in 2001, Sexton contends that this was merely an “awkward…cultural redress” for the lack of proper acknowledgement regarding his work in “respectable” black roles, such as Malcolm X (40). By rewarding a rather stereotypically fraught performance with the highest acting honor, the Academy sends a rather disturbing message regarding what they “deem accomplished black cinema” (45). And the Oscar goes to Dwayne Johnson! I believe that Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson is a tremendous actor as he is able to act in a substantial amount of roles even if they are complete polar opposites such as a detective and a criminal. Despite not coming to fame as an actor for movies or television shows he was more known for his time in staged wrestling, WWF/WWE, earlier in his career. The definition is more straightforward than numerous individuals will agree to. John "Duke" Wayne once stated, “A man’s got to have a code, a creed to live by, no matter his job (Pilar Wayne, vii).” To Wayne, that ideology implied carrying on with his life as somebody who might speak to America well.…
