During the first three weeks of the class, I fell in love with dental: with every new bit of information being exciting to learn, and it all came from a teacher who cared, Mrs. English. She was the one to drag me out of my shell and teach me to attempt new things. The most important one being HOSA, a competition between health occupation students from all corners of Ohio.

English handed me an application for the National Technical Honor Society. She believed I could make it in, and boost my resume. In order to get into the society though, I had to document service hours, something i've never really done before. However, I’m so glad that I had to. I helped out at my local church to feed the less fortunate, and I will never forget the beaming smiles and heartfelt thanks I received. I also helped tutor the dental students who just didn't understand some concepts. Having your classmates look up to you and give you thanks is an amazing feeling. However, watching them build confidence and smile when they finally learned was the most rewarding part though. Dental made me serve others, which I wouldn't have considered before, but I’m glad I
