Teeth are essential to the human body. They are the parts of our body that help us to chew. It gives people the sense of taste and, partially the sense of smell. Teeth are small, tough, whitish compositions made of calcium found in the mouth. Their main purpose is to break down food by chewing it and destroying it so the food can be ready for digestion. We clean our teeth so we do not get them infected or dirty from something. Sometimes, however we can get diseases from the teeth. We can protect ourselves from these diseases in many different ways.

The toothbrush is an important part of oral hygiene. Advice that dentists give is that people should clean their teeth after every meal by brushing their teeth, and by flossing once a day. One of the toothbrushes’ purpose is to remove food and plaque. The toothbrush is an instrument made of bristles that are tightly bundled together. The ADA recommends brushing your teeth twice a day for healthy teeth. ADA recommendations suggest visiting a dentist at least twice a year.
