Dental Assistant Career Goals

Coming into college I had the prospective to major in Accounting and becoming an accountant. Before coming to college I was forced to majoring into Criminal Justice. All simply because my mother wanted to live her life through. Now that I have been majoring in this career field for over two years; I grew to like the major and stuck with it. With that being said, I made it my goal to take on other career goal that I wanted to take on. Determining on receiving a degree in Criminal Justice when I graduate from Miles College in Birmingham, Alabama. Momma always told me “Yasmine you are never going get nowhere in life if you don’t go to school, get a degree, or go to the military. You will not be staying in this house if you do not either of the two. What are you going do if something happen to your dad and I? I want you to have more in life then we had and reach those six figures.” I plan to take on a career with my Bachelor’s Degree as a paralegal. After I receive my Criminal Justice Degree, I plan on attending University of Alabama Birmingham or Lawson State Community College to obtain a certification or Associate’s Degree as Dental Assistant. I will be discussing the steps on becoming a paralegal and dental assistant, also my plans after graduating college.

Within completing this degree most colleges/intuitions offer laboratories, clinical, and classroom hands on programs. Every state requires a Dental Hygienists to be licensed before you can apply for any job position, and a written and clinical exam has to be done. Different qualities are needed to become a Dental Assistant. You have to be compassionated, being critical to evaluate your patients. Also, being detailed oriented is needed to follow specific rules from the dentist and also to help diagnose and treat patients when
