Dennis Raymond Ferguson was born on the 5th February 1948 in Sydney. Ferguson was born legally blind, which certified him to attend St Edmund’s school for the Blinded that was located in Wahroonga. In the year 1958, he was published on the front page of the Sydney morning Herald presenting a bouquet of flowers to Queen Elizabeth The Queen Mother. Ferguson’s parents had separated, and his mother then had married a new partner. Ferguson then accused his stepfather for sexually abusing him for seven years at the age of 10. After this accusation he then got placed into a state home. Dennis did not exhibit appropriate behaviour, or a supportive environment due to the shifting of him into state homes. This could have affected his personal characteristics
