• Nat Turner was born on October 2, 1800, and thought to be a prophet. In February of 1831, he told four fellows, about his plan to up rise. His master allowed him to be contracted out to other people; which is where he learned about his many influences, which ranged from the American Revolution through the uprising at Saint Dominque and finally to his desire to be free and to prosper. In 1799, Prosser was found guilty of maiming a white man, and was branded. This experience tremendously pushed Prosser to want a revolution. After this, he concocted a plan and began recruiting slaves. His army ranged from slaves to free blacks and finally to Frenchmen. The date was set at August 31st, but before they could act, they were discovered, thus white militias began looking for them.
