Denmark uses a golden triangle model called Flexicurity, a combination of flexibility, security and active labor market policy. While companies have the flexibility to lay off employees during downturns and hire when business increases, employees are guaranteed unemployment benefits and the active labor market system offers guidance, job education to everyone who is unemployed. This explains why “about 25% of Danish private sector workers change jobs each year. [There are dual advantages of the Danish system, since it] “ensures employers a flexible labor force while employees enjoy the safety net of an unemployment benefit system and an active employment policy” (Welfare, 2016). I must admit that moving to a foreign country might be challenging at first, but I am confident that my leadership and personal skills that are needed will help me overcome all the obstacles in the new working environment. Even though the job offer might seem perfect at first, I must ensure whether the new position will offer stability and job security. Therefore, I must successfully negotiate the terms of the job and make sure that it is an international contract, otherwise, If a local contract [is signed, I] will be bound by all the employment laws of the host country and may not be offered some of the traditional expat benefits I may be seeking” (3 things, 2016). Also, another factor that must be included in the contract is the need for equalization in the “expatriate compensation package. When agreeing a salary and benefits [I] should always seek to ensure that the payment and compensation offered are financially the same, or better off” [that what is offer in the US] (3 things, 2016). Several of the websites seem to suggest extensive research on the cost of living to ensure that the information is accurate. One last thing that must be taken into account is the length of the contract and what will happen if the contract is terminated or the job does not turn out to be a success. Therefore, it is important that the repatriation package includes severance & benefits, the period of coverage and what will happen if the visa and work permit are no longer
