Denethor Soundtrack

Decent Essays
The soundtrack helps you understand and feel what is going on; it played a big role in the movie because the goal was for you to be emotional or in suspense during certain parts of the movie. One part of the movie that was emotional for me was when pippin had to sing for Denethor II while there was a battle going on. During battle scenes and death scenes, the music needs to be intense/sad so that the viewers can feel what the characters are feeling. They even made up their own elvish language and had an elvish song that made it interesting. The soundtrack is what makes the movie

In the classical and baroque era, music was written to tell a story and emphasize the emotion within that story. James Horner: Some of the best movies made today are so great thanks to the advances in video production technology and special effects. However, one of the biggest contributors to a successful motion picture is the soundtrack. The soundtrack to a movie sets tone for the action on the screen and has the ability to truly enchant the audience, creating an emotional stage of relativity between the movie storyline and the audience. We recently lost one of the greatest American composers of such a soundtrack all too soon; James Horner, born August 1953 lost his life in an unfortunate plane crash on June 22nd 2015 ending a successful career of producing some of the most incredible soundtracks we know and love. Different film scores can completely alter the mood of a scene and film makers carefully pick certain soundtracks to convey certain emotions or ideas. A soundtrack is music that is made particularly for the film. Whereas music can be taken from outside like rock songs etc. trumpets and loud instruments to make a scene feel triumphant and use thin violins and light piano to make a scene feel creepy and menacing. If you don't use music that matches with the scene, like using triumphant music when the main character is being tortured, you take your audience out of the scene.…

When you were telling us about this movie we were going to watch I was thinking to myself how much of music can actually be a form of protest and the movie looks old so how can it be any good. By the end of the movie I was very interested in realizing that music had a huge effect on the past as well as it does in the present time. I believe that the thesis of this movie was to tell stories about the better view of civil rights and how the life was for many workers during this time. I think that this movie did a great job of accomplishing its thesis. One of the most interesting thing that I learned for the movie was that music unifies the brain.…

When it comes to music in film, it is important to properly capture what is onscreen with the music accompanying the scene. A piece of music that is appropriately orchestrated will allow the viewer to feel as though they have become a part of the film. Because the point of view of the camera is omniscient, the following musical description will attempt to create a piece that will not overpower the scene but rather complement it, and follow the emotion of the main character as the viewer cannot feel it directly from her perspective. There is no dialogue in this clip, however, feelings are still communicated through the main character’s fast paced action, this build in tension increases as the excerpt progresses. It is important to capture this through the music to enhance the…

    Für Elise Analysis

The piece of music that I’ve selected to write about is a solo piano composition named Für Elise that was composed by Ludwig van Beethoven. Für Elise literally translates to “For Elise”, a title that has raised many questions and few answers. The main reason that I’ve chosen this piece of music to write about is because it is a piece that is very well known, even to people who are not involved in music, and “is a common catalyst and inspiration that causes many people to become interested in the piano.” Für Elise is a revolutionary piece of music, and to support this claim we must first examine the fundamental elements in the piece as well as the emotion and visualization that makes this piece so impacting.…

As a historical drama, it revolves around events that happened in the past. Therefore, the special effects in this movie was not as prominent compared to a sci-fi movie. Most of the tracks included in the soundtrack were written by Alexandre Desplat, a French film composer. As a musician, I would say the most outstanding tracks were by Beethoven even if the movie only included one or two tracks of his work. The background music fit the scenes as perfect as a glove.…
