If you’re willing to work at it, you can rapidly improve the quality of every part of your life”. Communication is a very important tool. It’s the main way we convey messages and emotions, generate ideas, and develop relationships. Most of the time our communication is interpersonal or impersonal which includes both verbal and nonverbal messages. Interpersonal communication refers to direct communications between two persons. Interpersonal, most direct form of communication, uses both verbal and nonverbal methods. This form of communication is also called Dyadic. With interpersonal communication we treat others as unique individuals. Interpersonal communication is when you communicate with someone you care about. A relationship that is defined as interpersonal is usually referred to as an “I-Thou” relationship like your relationship with your spouse. This form of human communication is irreversible meaning once you say something or do something you can’t take it back. When communicating interpersonally we interact closely with people we care about which reveals more about a person. Families are not perfect so we can expect some conflicts to arise. We can’t avoid all conflict but we can develop creative solutions to them. The way to do this is to have more honest dialogue with your spouse, siblings or parents.
