In Cantos XXI-XXII I think that the demons embodie all sins. They look disgustingly proud and vain about torturing and killing souls. They show the sin of a lying tongue, when they lie about the route to get to the 6th ring. They show the sin of hands that shed innocent blood when they kill the bodies and souls of the sinners. Another sin shown is the sin of a heart that deviseth wicked acts when they torture their souls. One last sin they show is feet that can be swift in running to mischief, shown when a new sinner entered and the demon ran to him and grabbed him throwing him in a ditch and also when they were trying to escape and the demons ran after him and Virgil to capture and kill them.
