Democratic Culture Vs American Culture

Our democratic ideals, democratic culture, and democratic values have fluctuated throughout the history of our country, the first example being the Philadelphia Convention, where the basis for our political system was created. Some of the unique things about our democratic systems are the role of the executive branch, the relationships between the executive branch and the legislative branch, and the entirety of the judicial branch are all different than most things that were established before the writing of our constitution. Something that the founders heavily discussed was the prospects for a stable democracy, however in the beginning, they struggled to find a way to maintain them. The role of our citizens plays heavily into our political culture because the responsibility falls into the hands of leaders to maintain this democracy.

The word politics ordinarily entails large-scale events, such as wars and civil rights movements; but can also be private discussion and events on a smaller scale. America's political culture is always shifting, changing and usually can be controversial. Crisis can cause sharp peaks, but our political culture never sits still. One of the most important parts of our culture is economic; people often immigrate here for opportunity, and to pursue the American dream.
