Describe The Differences Between Sanders And Marco Rubio

There are many factors involved in the choosing of each major party. Some of those factors include social criteria such as income, race, and gender. Another form of party identification may be handed down from parents and how they raise you. Voters typically tend to vote for the party that they most identify with and develop an emotional tie. The text tells us that to run for president as an Independent, a candidate must register and petition each state through obtaining a certain number of voters’ signatures (Ginsberg et. Al, 210-213). Many candidates who enter the candidacy as an independent eventually move into the democratic or republican parties depending on which side most their beliefs lay. I have chosen to write about Democratic nominee Bernie Sanders and Republican nominee Marco Rubio.

This was the first of four terms he would serve as mayor. In 1991, he was elected to Vermont’s U.S. House of Representatives where he remained until being elected as a U.S. Senate in 2007. Since being in the Senate he has done many things to focus on bettering the economy. His focus has been on American middle class and serving as chairman of the Senate Committee passing a reform for the VA health care system. He also serves on the Environment and Public Works Committee, is a member of the Energy and Natural Resource Committee and many others. Sanders is currently “the longest serving independent member of Congress in American History”. In 2016 he ran for Democratic Presidential nominee before endorsing Hilary Clinton in the primary election. Bernie Sanders has had many achievements throughout the course of his political career. Considering that he was an activist before becoming involved in politics from a different perspective, I believe that he has viewed things from both sides of the fence.
