What is democracy? Democracy can be viewed as multiple things. Some people in the United States view Democracy as Checks and Balances. Some people view Democracy as a cultural standpoint. Whatever one believes, Democracy revolves around one definition, the rule of the people. Dating back to 508 B.C., Democracy has been intact and has preserved all the way to 2016. But, that’s not always the case. Democracy is being taught that it is hurting the American Culture. Many of the American population believe Democracy is giving the rule to the powerful, elite people.
