Many, many years ago, Demeter was distraught, as she realized her daughter, Persephone, was kidnapped by Hades, god of the underworld. Zeus realized this would wreak havoc on Earth, so he confronted her.
“Demeter, why are you so despondent?” Zeus asked with worry in his deep voice.
“My daughter, Persephone, she’s been kidnapped by that fiend, Hades,” Demeter said mournfully.
“Perhaps I could retrieve her and make you blissful once again,” Zeus said, now with confidence.
Demeter didn’t respond, so Zeus headed forth, toward the underworld.
Hades already prepared a wedding feast for him and Persephone.
“Persephone, my dear, aren’t you happy?” Hades said with a devilish smile.
“Do not call me your dear, let me go home!” Persephone said
