Delta expands geographic coverage to Asian and European markets. The U.S. domestic air travel market is mature, so Delta Airlines is actively looking beyond domestic flights for growth. Since 2011 Delta has already spent $525 million on partnerships with three oversea carries; Aeroméxico, Brazil’s GOL, and the UK’s Virgin Atlantic (Anderson, 2014). Delta currently offers service to 344 destinations in 64 countries. In a continuous effort to increase their international business Delta is currently undergoing an airport expansion at their hub in Seattle-Tacoma International Airport to service passengers in the Asian and European market.
