Recently, I’ve been spending some time in study regarding deliverance. You see, I came to the Lord many moons ago. My conversion took place during a time when churches still made altar calls and when persons who answered that call and were bound by demonic spirits the preacher and the mothers would gather around and commence to casting those demons out. Give examples of how the practice of ministry has affected your experience and understanding of A) God At the core of my understanding of God is a God of love in covenantal relationship with God’s children. Romans 8:38-39 says it well; “For I am convinced that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor rulers, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers, nor height, nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.” The practice of ministry has only proven to strengthen that belief. I was called early Saturday morning to sit with a family who had just learned of the death of their daughter/granddaughter in a vehicle accident.…

Discipline is also needed from both the counselor and the client in order for the counseling sessions to work. If a Christian counselor is not committed to God and only working for the money, it will not work. The clients will eventually see through their persona and it will fail; the same with the clients. However, conversion might be possible if the individual has an open…

To this point, Pinnock adds, “It is not enough to know what is written; we also need to grasp the significance of the Word. It is not enough to recite the text, if we are not saying what is crucial for the present situation” (Pinnock 222). Pinnock’s gives a helpful insight by saying that it is only through the Holy Spirit that we know what the Bible is saying to the world today. I need, we all need, the Spirit to show up in our lives and teach us what God is saying in our day and our time. The power of this lies in Pinnock’s examples of people like William Carey, William Wilberforce, and Martin Luther King, Jr., who through the Spirit’s illumination of Scripture, changed the world and grew God’s Kingdom.…

My life before my conversion consisted mainly of growing up in a Southern Baptist Church. Throughout my life I have heard the gospel countless times, but never accepted it as absolute truth to follow. Instead, my life until college was characterized by performing a lot of religious activity such as youth groups, church camps, and going to church on Sundays. I was in a tireless attempt to live out a religion that proved I was good enough to be declared righteous before God. It was a restless attempt to be whatever everyone else want me to be.…

True and significant life is found in Jesus Christ and because of my firm conviction of this it has been my primary objective to point people to Jesus. Being persuaded that Christ wants Christians and especially those who take leadership roles to minister to the needs of others, I have ordered my life to conform to that conviction. Ultimately, Jesus desires that each Christian serves him by serving others; this is accomplished in a variety of ways – feeding those who are hungry, teaching everyone the life saving Gospel, and by leading in a way that reflects the glory of Christ. It has been my immense pleasure to have had the opportunity to preach God’s Word to thousands of people over the past fifteen years. It is my sincere passion to see people embrace Christ Jesus as their Lord and savior and to be transformed by the renewing of their minds through the Word of God.…
