It’s slowly turning to the last day of the year and I feel it’s time to tell you a little about what all I did during this last semester as a Junior. A small recap to give you an idea about all the fun/excited things we did in this class. Since the beginning of the school year we all had to set a goal about how many books we think we would be able to read by the end of the first semester, and then reset that goal and see if we can do better than before.
Throughout this whole year I have read 5 or 6 books this whole year and to be honest that’s more than I read last year when I was a Sophomore. The book I was reading at the beginning of the 2nd Semester was the last half of a book called Delirium By: Lauren Oliver, this book was 383 pages

The passenger was a great read, it is broken up into 5 or 6 different identities the main character goes through, she talks about how she is trying to find a new identity to be safe and then she meets someone that goes through a life threatening situation with her and she helps her find a new identity but there’s a twist...you’ll have to read the book to find out.
We wrote A LOT in this class and a lot of the times it was really annoying, but it has really helped me look at how much my writing has changed since the beginning of the year to the end. We wrote about so many different topics, sometimes we could choose what we wanted to write about...well that was most of the time. Then the rest was topics/articles Mrs. Baxter has given us to write about if we were stuck on ideas. The one thing she did that really helped when we students were stuck on what to write, is that we were able to get on the computer and look at google classroom for other topic ideas for

it was made into many many things. Thus be HAMLET! Hamlet is a very heart wrenching, dramatic, violence filled, romantic play known all around the world. From not just watching the movie Hamlet we also read the book..(well some of chose to) a lot of the time it was talking about how your parents shouldn 't control your love life when you really know what’s best for you. Also that if you love to hard it could potentially scare or drive the one you 're yearning to go away.
Towards the end of this semester we didn’t really do a lot of “fun” activities we kinda just focused on getting stuff done for the end of the year...which is tomorrow, but when you read this idk when it’ll be but our last day is June 10th 2016 as Juniors! I’m so excited to be finally done and having to worry about only one year left. Although between the transition of the first semester and second we did do a lot of activities to help us remember vocabulary words, and then you had those weekly/ daily SAT practice things which for me actually

Author of nonfiction book “The Spirit Catches You and You Fall”, Anne Fadiman relays the questions to her readers in her preface: “What makes a good parent?” and “What makes a good doctor?” As far as anyone is concerned for the latter question, specifically what makes outstanding health care, Carolyn M. Clancy, MD, of the Agency for Health Care Research and Quality would describe quality health care as simply “getting the right care to the right patient at the right time – every time” (). Furthermore, she dissects this simplistic description apart, providing a multilayered perspective. Essentially, the key to quality health care is its three basic dimensions: STRUCTURE, PROCESS, and OUTCOME” ().…

Freshman Composition I’s course objective was designed to help students “focus on developing and expressing ideas clearly and effectively to communicate with various audiences for various purposes and occasions, through written, oral, aural, and visual venues by means of individual and team projects.” Throughout this course my classmates and I reviewed principles of the writing process, including: planning, logical organizational, development strategies, revision, and editing, we were also introduced to rhetorical techniques and vigorous library research. With those techniques, this course has helped my classmates and I develop critical thinking skills like: summary, paraphrase, analysis, evaluation, and synthesis of multiple sources. Before I began this class my writing process consisted of simply being assigned as assignment by my high school english teachers and coming up with an essay at the top of my head that properly fit the space requirement and prompt that I would then turn in the day it was due.…

In “Under the Influence” by Scott Russell Sanders, an American novelist and English professor at Indiana University at Bloomington, the author explains the struggles he had to go through while dealing with his alcoholic father. Alcoholism has slowly transformed his father into a completely different person, and even a different creature at times. Every time his father would get drunk, Sanders and his family felt as if they were losing a piece of their closest relative. They felt ashamed of the disease that had consumed a portion of their family and this developed to an extent where telling other people was impossible, making their father’s alcoholism a secret that the family kept hidden and closed away from the rest of the world. They felt…

Senior Trip to Washington D.C. For my school, the senior class gets together and travels to Washington D.C. for three days. The next two days were, wake up, go to breakfast, then tour all day.…

This year has been a crazy one. I came from a public school, not knowing anyone, so I terrified and didn't know what to expect. I struggled with trusting others, time management and battling multiple tasks at once. Luckily, I had a lot of practice throughout the year. For instance when we had to record a News Show for Mr.Mora's class, I was faced with all of these problems.…

It was a cold, winter morning. The frigid air blew as I turned to pull the handle on the door to the main building of my small high school. After entering the doorway, I dragged my feet across the floor and trudged through the empty hallway. As I peeked through each of the door windows, I saw nothing but dark, empty classrooms. It was not until I looked up that I noticed one lit room at the end of the hall.…

Surviving English Comp 1 Writing Class Writing is one thing I hate the most. It was hard to write an essay for the first time because I did not have the knowledge or concept of this writing style. Before this class, I thought I knew what writing was all about by expressing my thoughts, ideas and feeling. I know now that I had the wrong concept on how to write. I can express my thoughts, ideas and feeling, but if I put them in the wrong contents it does not lead the reader to the point of the essay.…

Senior year is one that should be unforgettable. It is the one where you start to realize who you are and some find out who they want to become. We grow to know one another as a family, an East High Blue Ace family. High school has taught me countless lessons, like being the most popular is not important at all, getting to know the people you thought you would never talk to is a very favorable experience, and never waste a second on someone who wouldn’t take a bullet for you. There truly is a friend for everyone, you just have to reach out and step out of your comfort zone.…

This semester has been a very difficult, stressful, and challenging for me . High School can not compare the amount of stress I had to face in this fall semester at Hostos Community College. However, it is like that with many other students because making a transition is frightening and many of us find a way to run away from it. Everything in life is a challenge and it is scary as well, but for those who want to study it all starts of with college. It took me more than words to actually realize the reality that I am actually living right at this very moment because, I was not expecting so many things to fall apart, but somehow becoming whole again.…
