At first, Bohdan join the army to get women to see him as a men in uniform. However the Vietnam war happen and he experience something he did want to know. When returning home from the war, Bohan finds himself in “culture shock”(392). When his father asked him to drive, Bohdan say no because of the fact that he sees everything around him is different. While Bohdan was sucking the cigarette, his father notices the way he smoke is an “unmistakable shadow of vulnerability and fear of living” which reveals that something happen during the war that cause him to be traumatize(394). Bohdan confesses to his father that he “just wanted to jump out from planes with my parachute”,which demonstrates that he does not want to get involved in wars and “just wanted to fly”(396). Oskar Schindler was a businessman who use the war as a way to make money but he so realize that he was saving Jewish lives. In the scene, when they were spraying water at the cattle cars where the Jew were. The Nazis generals thought that Schindler was giving the Jews false hope but in reality by spraying water that them, he was giving the Jews hope to live on. In another scene, Schindler was bribing the commander of the concentration camp to give him some of the Jews to work at his factory. Schindler use certain words and money to convince the commander, which shows how he can manipulate people. By using this Schindler can convince people that he’s using the Jews to make more money but he is actually saving them from the concentration camp.
