Deflate Gate Analysis

Great Essays
Will the absurdity that is Deflate gate ever end? Not for a while, it appears. In the latest turn of events, U.S. District Judge Richard M. Berman on Thursday overturned the league's four-game suspension of star New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady, which the league imposed on Mr. Brady for his alleged involvement in a scheme to slightly deflate the footballs in the first half of last season's AFC Championship Game against the Indianapolis Colts. After eight months, millions of dollars and the people's court time have been taken up with the question of whether the team violated league rules by removing a tiny bit of air from the footballs, supposedly making them easier to grasp and throw. Even though the deflation was discovered at halftime, …show more content…
But here’s the thing: If we don’t talk about this, the fact that you refused to talk about it will end up as the center of the story. I mean, how can you not respond to this question? It’s a pretty straightforward question. I’ve had those questions for eight months and I’ve answered them, you know, multiple times for many different people, so --
I don’t think you have, really. When I ask, “Were you generally aware that this was happening,” what is the answer? I’m not talking about that, because there’s still ongoing litigation. It has nothing to do with the personal question that you’re trying to ask, or the answer you’re trying to get. I’m not talking about anything as it relates to what’s happened over the last eight months. I’ve dealt with those questions for eight months. It’s something that -- obviously I wish that we were talking about something different.”
Brady is still considered an icon to the sports world and in the fashion world as well. This set back only made him more popular than he already was and it opened new doors, for example GQ cover man of the year. Can you truly blame Brady for not wanting to talk to Klosterman? No one likes to be asked the same question twice, can you even imagine answering it even two hundred times, and I have sympathy for

In my opinion, the Deflategate or Ballghazi, was a flawed investigation. Multiple investigations led to different results based on biased opinions. There appears to be too many variables based on individual assessments. The footballs are inflated by each team, no officials verify the correct pressure. The pressure of the ball changes causing a minor deflation based on a lower temperature.…

The reason the Patriots are in the Super Bowl for the 7th time in Tom Brady’s career is because of his leadership and consistency on and off the field. On the field he picks apart all the defenses in the NFL. He doesn’t have to have good receivers to make them good. He makes them good because of his work ethic in practice and his timing and his accuracy. Brady was suspended the first four games of the year this season and he still ended the season with MVP numbers.…

Brett Favre, a former American football quarterback, is one of the best possible players to be considered in the NFL 2016 Hall of Fame Class, reports NFL National Lead Writer Mike Tanier (Bleacher Report). Brett Favre played for the Atlanta Falcons, the Green Bay Packers, the New York Jets, and the Minnesota Vikings. Favre’s season with the New York Jets in 2008 is not known for the most successful passes, but rather for the frequent nudes and controversial text messages with the former New York Jets sideline reporter Jenn Sterger. In 2010, the NFL began an investigation against Favre for alleged explicit sexual text messages and photos sent to Jenn Sterger. Favre would occasionally send voicemails to Jenn Sterger saying, “Love to have you…

In football there will always be controversy over calls, penalties, catches, touchdowns and so on, but if we have a definite rule of what a catch is there won’t be as great of problem as there is currently. Commissioner Roger Goodell even recognizes this and in January before the Super Bowl said that, “clearly catch, no-catch has been a lot of discussion and a lot of disagreement ... and I think we can clarify this rule and I think we can do it with a lot of hard work [and] focus and get to a place where -- I'm not going to tell you there won't be controversy, but I believe we can get to a much better…

The NFL did hang posters in the in league locker rooms, warning players of possible long-term health effects of concussions. Even then most players who have retired from football suffer from pain every day and 90% say it is caused by football. Less than 30% of them say they would want their children to play it. So will things change in the NFL? Will fans think twice before supporting the games?…

This because society felt that ignoring the problem only made the situation worse. To prevent this, more laws were enacted and there was a much greater emphasis on enforcement. For the NFL, this meant that some of their star players were the focus of criminal investigations. OJ Simpson was the classic example of this. In the 1970s, he set a variety of rushing records and was one of the most recognizable and beloved sports figures on the planet.…

Dear Roger Goodell and the NFL Players association, How are you going to turn football into a safer sport in the eyes of the players and the eyes of the public? There has been a lot of criticism on the NFL stand with concussions, and it is well deserved. In 2015, there were 199 players that were concussed and had to take participate in the concussion protocol. The number was a huge increase from 2014, where there was 123 players that had a concussion during the 2014 NFL season. I’m writing this as a concerned fan of your organization.…

I enjoyed reading what you wrote. You are right about that people were not allowed to see the Pharaohs and his family, I did read about that somewhere. I would think it's because Pharaohs were normal beings, but the people believed they were Gods. Of course the priests had to protect the Pharaohs image that's why they hid them from the common people. They get that part wrong in the movies where they show the Pharaohs and his wife checking on the people or walking among them.…

This is proof that the NFL was trying to reduce violence and injuries, but this still not does not seem to work for reducing them. People let their kids go out and play the sport while they are potentially risking serious head injury, like concussions, which is very concerning to the child's parents, because of all the news and facts they know about concussions. If the NFL, or the equipment makers for the football players, came together to work for good equipment that caused less injuries, then this would save money and damage for the football player. These injuries leave people wondering “Will concussions ever be prevented or reduced in percentage throughout the years of football”? Or “What are sports medical teams doing to prevent concussions or make helmets more concussion-proof”?…
