He wanted to be able to explain the success of crucial people, and how one would be able to achieve the same success. In the epilogue, “The Roseto Mystery” Gladwell goes on to explain Stewart Wolf’s findings, which surrounded a little town, Roseto, PA, whose community was in extraordinary health, he went on to figure out that they were healthy because of where they were from. “In Outliers, I want to do for our understanding of success what Stewart Wolf did for our understanding of health” (Gladwell, 11). Anyone who would go on to star in a blockbuster movie and become a household name or one who would graduate college, get a good job and make a lot of money, in my opinion, was the definition of ultimate success. In my life, if I ever got a one hundred on a test or a quiz would be some sort of success, or receiving a compliment towards my work, would also count as success. When I was younger, I took a ceramics class, my teacher had decided to put my work in the art exhibit, at the time this was a success to me. After reading Outliers, I have reached a more complex definition of success: Anyone who has achieved any kind of greatness, whether that means fame, fortune, or just living your best life. After reading the book, and gaining another definition of success my definition a lot farther than Gladwell’s Definition of success, of fame and fortune. This book had taught me that between the lines, every small outcome is a success to someone's life, whether they are an outlier or
