We all take in information through our senses at an immeasurable rate of data, streaming into our minds like a super computer. All of the senses pick up a different perspective of the data and information and stores it, uses it or deletes it in a fraction of a second. In order to be creative you need to practice the conscious thought process and awareness of the situation and environment that you are in, in any one particular time!
Our conscious mind is used in our daily decision making process and it keeps us occupied with what to do, and when we do it. The major attributes of the subconscious to name but a few are imagination, inspiration, deduction, suggestion and long term memory. Here the subconscious mind works best when we are not aware of it. When we are asleep or in some deep meditation or restful state, the subconscious works without the logic part of your conscious mind trying to reason and block the somewhat crazy ideas that may be flashing through your mind while trying to manifest the very answer or solution to your requests. Have you ever wanted to remember something and you cannot recall it as much as you try? Then you decide to give up and leave it. You forget about it because it was driving you mad. You then occupy your mind with something totally different and all of a sudden the answer POPS into your mind. In essence, you actually put it to the back of your conscious mind and allowed the subconscious to work it out for you.
The subconscious mind also takes on the role of who you really are. It will drive you to your most thought about desires and send you the right information and signals for you to act upon as well as tapping into the great super-information highway out there.
