Success
What is success? In many different cultures success can be seen in many different ways. In general, success is when someone accomplishes their desired aims and attains prosperity. In the United States, those who are in the top 1% can be seen as successful to most people. Although it may seem like a success to those people, it is not everyone’s view on what success really is. You do not have to be rich to be successful. I believe that people are being brain washed in what it means to be successful. Everyone wants the biggest house and fastest car, when in reality this makes no difference. All these actors and athletes who are seen as a success in their career are committing suicide. Although, there are countries like China or Germany that may be influenced by money there are other countries don’t have the need to impress others. Simple things, such as having a job and supporting your family is a huge success in other countries. These other places aren’t affected on what media thinks of what success is and they live a more positive and happy life each day. These people are raised that you cannot base your life off another person’s success and that, that person’s success will have no impact on your life. This is different from our country. We see it as that we have to get paid the most and live a greedy life to be successful. There is emotional success. This type of success can be things like relationships and how you look at yourself. I believe this is the success everyone should strive for. The first thing people do when they walk into a room of people is compare themselves. In my opinion I think this can have both a positive and negative impact on your life depending on what kind of person you are. For me I think this would have a negative impact on me. I would see these other people as smarter or better looking than I am and I would just put myself down. This is the wrong mind set people should have. The way some may see it as a positive thing is if they are very competitive. They do not look at other people as being better than the, but as equals. Also, when they compare themselves to other they do not just see what they can do to improve themselves, but what they can teach these other people. This has a detrimental emotional effect on a lot of people. Some will not push themselves past their limits thus holding themselves back from
