Already you can see that self-esteem relates to pride; since the word pride is in the definition. Self-esteem is a form of confidence, like self respect, it has to do with how you see yourself. Many people now, in this day and age, have little to no self-esteem all because comparison, and how cruel people can act towards others. Models and attractive people are plastered everywhere you look on billboards, on social media, in magazines, clothes store, even grocery stores. It is in human nature to compare, even if you are comparing yourself. People often find themselves unintentionally comparing themselves to famous people, when most of their beauty can be wiped off with makeup remover, or a delete button with the photoshop. Famous people are real people, they’re just like any of us, and just like any other person they are all different. My mom, and even I do it too, constantly says how she wants her body to look like a certain famous person’s, when they don’t even have the same body type. There are some physical expectations that your body just cannot meet; which tends to make people think bad of themselves, therefore lowering their self-esteem. Everyone needs to learn to be a little bit nicer to themselves, and even others around them. Don 't purposely try to put someone down. I don’t care if a person is 500 pounds, you don 't call them fat, or if they’re walking around practically naked, you don’t call them a whore, or if they have hair extensions and wear tons of makeup, you do not call them fake. No one enjoys being put down, they can live their life a certain way and still not be how others see them. For example: The “whore” could just enjoy how she looks, just because she dresses a certain way does not mean she acts a certain way as well. No one’s self-esteem should be inhibited because someone couldn’t keep their opinion to themselves. Don’t be the reason someone can’t achieve
